  • To identify the organization's key roles now and for the future, based on importance and risk factors, to identify the requirements both eligibility (experience, knowledge, technical skills and suitability/behavioral factors including career aspirations).

  • For each key role, to Identify key experiences, knowledge, skills and capabilities to prepare successors for future roles

  • To retain key talent and leaders

  • To ensure a clear process for ensuring key positions have a successor or ready to go strategy for getting one(TA)
